Privacy Policy

How we handle personal data, in plain English.

Last updated: April 2026

Our approach

Surrey Search Squad collects the minimum data needed to respond to enquiries and run the website. We do not sell your data, run advertising, or share it with anyone except the service providers listed below.

What we collect

  • Contact form submissions — name and email (required), plus phone, areas of interest, and message (optional). Submitted via our contact form.
  • Server logs — our hosting provider records standard request data (IP address, user agent, timestamp, requested URL) for security and abuse prevention.

What we do not collect

  • No analytics or tracking pixels
  • No advertising cookies or third-party trackers
  • No user accounts or sign-in
  • No payment information

How we use your data

  • To respond to your enquiry and discuss potential SEO work
  • To follow up on conversations you have started with us
  • To keep the website online, secure, and free from abuse

Service providers

We use a small number of third-party services to run the site. Each acts as a data processor under our instructions:

  • Resend — delivers contact form submissions to our inbox. Resend processes the data you submit so we receive it as an email.
  • Vercel — hosts the website and stores standard server-side request logs.
  • CARTO / OpenStreetMap — provides the basemap tiles shown on our About page. Loading those tiles exposes your IP address to CARTO's CDN.

Cookies

Surrey Search Squad does not set any first-party cookies. We do not use analytics or advertising cookies, so no cookie consent banner is required.

Data retention

  • Contact form emails are retained in our inbox for as long as the conversation may be relevant, and deleted on request
  • Server logs are retained by our hosting provider per their standard retention policy (typically 30 days)

Your rights (UK GDPR)

You have the right to:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate data
  • Erasure — request deletion of your personal data
  • Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format
  • Object — object to processing of your data

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@surreysearchsquad.com. We will respond within 30 days.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance.
